  1. Jamie, welcome to the forum and sorry to hear you're having amp troubles.........

Noob or not, you did the wise thing taking it to a tech.

All that said, fuses usually blow for a reason........and the solution will be to find the reason.

Were you using the same guitar both times? how is the amp grounded(if at all)?are you using effects pedals? did the tech check the tube sockets and wiring? etc.etc.etc.

Heres one idea..........make a similar post in the "lounge" section, because it's viewed more often than this section by at least 10-1, and there are some really educated, experienced, helpful & friendly people that come here.

    Good luck !!

  2. I have a '98 LP Std. and an '07 Sheraton II from the Unsung plant.

Also have an '05 G400 Custom Flametop from the Saien plant.

all 3 sound great with the stock p'ups, and I have no intention of swapping them out.

Granted, I personally prefer a muddier sounding p'up for vintage style blues.

I have other guitars with much hotter p'ups for hard rock, and metal.

Much of my tone/sound is controlled at the amp anyhow........I truly USE my amp as the 3rd. piece of my sound triangle.

  3. Thanks for input. Do you read serial numbers?

guitar dater project is a very handy website, it gives info by the sereal #'s breakdown.

Also, if you can get Nelsons(one of the forum users) attention on this subject, he's the most knowledgable one

i've seen in regards to Epis.
