  1. Okay here's a clue... he's a pickup artist Pretty cool huh!
  2. Who can tell the name of the famous man that owns this guitar? Pretty funny! Apparently for him, fender just did not get some things right on this guitar!
  3. I would advise to start with a professional set up. Have your luthier zero out the neck, check for high frets, then set it up with a nice set of strings... and check the saddle slots and the nut. Hope this helps
  4. If you haven't seen it this is a great watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbU1R4KDymw and just out of interest heres a Gibson Memphis vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BB1knU8tiTY I just never get tired of watching the factory videos... makes me wanna move to Nashville and go to work!
  5. WHAT!? A blank "truss rod nut cover"... CALL THE COPS!!!!!
  6. NEW or OLD .. the best guitars are the ones you want to keep and play and mod out , the ones you want to make your own! Playing guitar is all about being inspired and never giving up on that search for the tone and feel you desire. If you look at some of the legendary guitars and the people who've played them, they all seem to own guitars that have a cool story... and 9 times out of ten those guitars get customized to suit the desires of that players ear... then they become priceless! I have had lower end guitars that I wish I had never sold because there was somethi
  7. Stewy also has a new line of the golden age in a HOT PAF pickup. 9.5k I'm fixing to instal the Hot alnico 2 in the bridge and a 5 in the neck ( 50's style wiring of course ) putting this in my Classic For the price... I'm sold on the stewmacs! Not sure if they use the rough cast magnets... but to my ears they are pretty damn close! Happy hunting!
  8. There are some amazing deals out there on used Gibson Les Pauls! Check out some Classics also... can't go wrong with a used guitar that has been well cared for. https://reverb.com/item/365836-gibson-les-paul-1960-classic https://reverb.com/item/337903-gibson-les-paul-classic-sunburst-2002 https://reverb.com/item/391062-gibson-les-paul-classic-2014-vintage-burst-free-shipping Happy hunting!
  9. In a nut shell.... if you desire the first born... you must obtain the first born.... after that, there is less of a luxury. Our ears must learn to re-discover all over again... what it was we loved.... and are willing to settle for... that so resembles the innocence of the first born . Happy hunting on what you can afford! Cheers!
