digging in further looks like it was mij and assembled in the us... maybe someday!

There were 250 made in Nashville in the early 90s, the assembled in usa were early 2000s I believe.

They did the MIUSA john lee hooker sheratons back in the 90s. it's what became the union jack guitar played by noel gallagher at maine road

    I know.

I mean, if they give the sheraton the same recognition they have given the casino this past year. I think there would be a huge market for a USA sheraton with original specs, even a Chinese version. Surely gibson know that.

Anyway that's a topic for a separate thread.

  3. For what it's worth I know, you know about casinos. Your the casino guy on here, I appreciate your input

I kind of know what I'm expecting from this, if i get one.

I simply hope it to be a decent basic guitar, the fretboard material etc don't particularly concern me and as far as I'm aware the standard casino comes with pau ferro now anyway. I'm particularly drawn to the finish and colour.

The neck is 100% set. https://www.peachguitars.com/epiphone-casino-worn-worn-ebony.htm?opt=28010&gclid=CjwKCAiAwKyNBhBfEiwA_mrUMsk0T6Qi9uRZKY0621E70BHzAWcyyji_6C6JoZr_K26o8lUg1t2W7hoCW4sQAvD_BwE

Hopefully you can see the pictures on there, if not it does say set neck under the joint header on the epiphone product page.

My goal with this thread is to gauge the quality of these coming from the factory, the last new epiphone I bought was in 2012. I believe the quality is good at the factory at the moment but I'm just asking for people's experiences.

  4. To be honest I'm waiting for a USA Sheraton, if that ever happens.

This worn series just keeps me interested enough to keep looking.

The pickups would possibly go anyway in favour of something with black covers, even though personally I've not had any problems with epiphone pickups. These also come with CTS pots, so no issues  there.

The andertons review was quite interesting, but again amps, player etc.

The specs are very similar to the standard production casino, some may argue better.

It definitely isn't a bolt on neck as stated in the link you provided.

  5. I've said this before but I've never had a problem with epiphone electronics, even the so called muddy 90's pickups etc. All changes I've made have been down to either wear or preference like mihcmac.  Almost every time I see people moaning about this I wonder if they are adjusting the amp properly for each guitar?

And as for made in China? You say your happy with it, so why is it too bad?

  6. Hi, It looks like you got a custom KOA, not the custom PRO KOA which is the model that comes with coil splitting.

As far as I know the standard custom you have will come with CTS pots and is the only version available currently. The pro version has been discontinued and had the old headstock.

The dealer you bought from could have had the wrong product info up.

Either way it's a beautiful guitar.

  7. Providing the work was done by a fully competent person, and done correctly. There should be no limit to which electric guitar strings you use.

This is of course purely based on the information you have given, I have no idea how strong the joints are.  It will also probably need a set up to allow for a new gauge strings.

That must have been some crash to require a full new neck but the body was OK, and also luck that there was a Gibson lp available which had suffered irreparable body damage but its neck was OK.

  8. It appears these new versions of the Lucille do come with a 'epilite' case which actually looks quite nice.

It seems these are being given similar specs to other signature models, with the previous version being basically a standard run model.

These have cts pots etc. I wonder how long they will be around?

  9. It's very similar to a broadway, the headstock would fit a 60s, as would the serial number. However from those pictures, I would say that's not from the 60's.

I don't think I've ever seen those fb inlays.

Assuming that it's modern, the serial number given would indicate a reissue. But a reissue wouldn't have those tuning keys, a replacement possibly? Also if its modern the biggest point is the two hole truss cover.

I don't know, it could be fake, it could have been a reissue, it could even have been for the Japanese Market only. Try asking Epiphone they may be more help.

If I add one to my new USA Casino it will be a B-7…. Like Harrison & Mc Cartney Casinos.. They look awesome & work perfect… I know because I have them on several other Gibson’s, Epiphone’s & Gretsch’s…….

    Thanks..

The B7 does look best, it's the classic bibsby people think of on these type of guitars.

My suggestion of the B3/B6 is purely because I don't think I would have the balls to screw through the top of THAT guitar and I don't think the roller is needed.

Between 1988 and about 2004, all Epiphone guitars that were copies of Gibson models had truss rod covers with "Gibson" on them. The Epiphone-original models, like the Sheraton and Casino, did not.

Between this period some if not most sheraton II came with a gibson truss cover, including my 93. I know the riviera had the E, as did the epiphone by gibson models which came before this period.

I know people mod them but there are several on ebay and reverb at the moment with the gibson cover.
