Done in the style of Texas Bluesman Rambling Thomas.

was that The Robert Johnson you were playing too? Both you and Jerry are playing quite small bodied guitars yet the projection is superb in both, my loudest classical guitar is a parlour shaped guitar made by a guy called Tony Johnson. Live it is great; you play a bass and you can feel the note ringing through you and the chair; it is just so resonant!
Very coo playing and singingl!

you and that guitar together are a greet combination! what model of guitar is it Jerry? Nice tone

I recorded this last weekend, but not with a Gibson.
There were, however, a few Gibsons in the room sympathetically vibrating.
we just bought our joint Christmas present, an XBOX 360 and to test it was working, spent three hours loving shooting all the 'badddies' in Halo 2, so your song resonated with me a lot!
Great stuff

Ha ha that was great Duane. I was thinking you could have wobbled the right hand even more for the sitar sound!
The Beatles are simply the worlds greatest band! sometimes Keiser Chiefs or a band like the Stereophonics come on the radio and I think " wow we may have a new Beatles" , then I hear something like Here, There and Everywhere or Michelle and I think "I don't think so!!!"

I had the pleasure of performing at the 2011 Pensacola Beach Songwriter's Festival and of course my 1951 Gibson CF-100E was a big hit. Here's a song called "A Long Time Ago"
What I enjoyed about this was my ears kept perked up through out this song Joe - I kept thinking it was going to go one way - and then it went another., Also, I was just writing about Dr Who (in another thread) then listened to your introduction, so I was in a time traveling mood if your song was meant to take the listener back through time, I think you succeeded! Cheers for sharing

Hi everyone.
I've never really sung in front of anyone before, or recorded myself singing, but I've recently had the urge to write a song or two. A song on paper isn't much use so I recorded it (or at least as much as I've actually written).
I used my iPhone so the quality isn't great, and I'm using my J-45TV.
So here it is, my world debut, let me know what you think!
I enjoyed the contrast of sad words to upbeat music! Thanks for sharing a lovely song.

A little medley y'all might be familiar with I recorded with my iphone.... enjoy... or not
Thanks for sharing; I really enjoyed it - Your voice is very melodic and calming and suits the song perfectly! I love Blackbird and also the song Julia - have you sung that before?

As promised, here is my cover of Cat Stevens' "If I Laugh" from the Tea For The Tillerman album of 1971.
I'm playing the lead parts on my SJ200. It is tuned to DADF#AD and capo'd at the second fret which is essentially open E (EBEG#BE). I'd rather not have the guitar fold in half tuned to open E with medium strings on it! The rhythm part, I play on my Songwriter Deluxe and the bass part on my Rickenbacker 4003.
It was recorded and mixed using Sonar X1 Producer. Microphones are an Apex 435 large diaphram condenser through a Behringer MIC200 preamp and a Behringer C2 pencil condenser through my Alto S6 Mixer preamp. Mastered in Sony Soundforge. The video was recorded on my iPhone4. I used the audio from the video recording to sync the audio from Sonar. The video was edited and mixed in CyberLink PowerDirector and saved as an MP4.
That was very well performed and also filmed so nicely too!

I wrote this song about a week ago, played this song at my friend's funeral (the man in the song), so I have feedback from locals, but please let me know how this song strikes you, as you do not know the deceased. I played it at his funeral a few days ago, and wow, that was hard. He was a good guy. This was done on my Gibson Gospel and I really didn't flub up until about the next to last note, wouldn't you know it. But, doesn't matter, just a rough demo. Let me know how it sounds, too, as I am no expert recorder.
Thanks for feedback, good or bad.

(You might have to wait a minute for the song to load?)
EDIT: This post was in the wrong place, had 42 views and not one comment. I moved it to here now. I hope SOMEbody likes it.
That was so sad, but also so beautiful and your voice is so ghostly and heartfelt. Thanks for making me sad!

All damn week mostly the 4th movement from Mahler Symphony no 7. I had to learn it for a concert yesterday! Other than that I treated myself to hearing Led Zeppelin 2 and 3 while at the gym. It NEVER ceases to give me immense pleasure hearing the mighty Led Zeppelin! :)

Really cool files to watch and listen-to. Not only enjoyable, but inspiring...... Below is a link to some of my music. Most was written by me, aside from the old traditionals. I haven't done any of my own videos yet, though there are a few of me on youtube that I often wish were not there...lol.....Great, great thread. Ain't music cool?..... http://www.family-fr.../my_music_files
Thanks! The King Of Independence Avenue and the song about Irene were two that really got to me in particular. Just lovely...
cheers
