Johno99
Lots of posts about mods to Epi Dots - so here's my pennyworth. I got a Vintage Sunburst Dot from eBay a while back. It has an oddball serial number prefixed GG which was supposedly never used!! Given it's dated to August 2005 and at that time Dots came mainly from China, I guess that's it - not that I'm bothered. Main changes - Bone nut - professional job Changed pups to Seymour Duncans - Jazz at the neck and a JB4 at the bridge. Result - transformation!! Smooth sweet sounds from the bridge and bright, sharp response from the bridge. I play through a Trace Elliot Super Tramp Amp and switching to the "dirty" channel, I can shake the world!! Love that Dot!!!!
Bluemans335
I have one in natural with a thick 1958-style mahogany neck. I put a pair of Duncan Seth's in it. Sounds great.
Red 333
The Dot is an awesome value stock (especially newer models with the upgraded pups), but the are an ideal modding platform. Red
Cyphre
I bought my Samick made 2001 ebony Dot w/ hardshell case for $280. It was in excellent shape and played well, but after I had a tusq nut, wilkinson roller bridge, classic PAFs by Harpmaster, a Switchcraft switch and actual Grover tuners installed it plays like a dream. So worth it.
