Its weird too, because the other Gibson pickguards do not encroach on the rosette and hole; only the teardrop ones it seems. Here is my SJ, followed my prior J45... where the pickguard was removed, replaced with the beveled Greven, and placed properly. What's the deal with greven pickguards , after a quick Google it appears they do them for martins. Is that what you used ? Would you recommend them Sal? Would you recommend them Sal? That Greven tortoise tear drop works perfect. It is so much nicer than any out there IMO. It looks rich and the beveled sides are nice.
