ruffdog64 Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Help please guys, i`ve just got myself a burstbucker 3 for my sg special faded and went to fit it to find the wiring is different from the original pup already there , on the original there is a plug to which there is a black wire and a green wire and on the bb3 there is only an outer shielding and a black wire , i`m told there is somewhere a how to do with colour photos can you help? or am i being thick and it`s simlpy black to black and the shielding to the green wire?many thanks Harvey
Dynadude Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I'm not familiar with any type of plugs being used in Gibson wiring. That has me kind of stumped. Normally, the shielding will ground to the cover of the volume pot, and the internal wire will go to one of the tabs on the pot. You should be able to determine which one from the way the original pickup is wired.
