Tony611
I have read a lot of material concerning the different types of wood that are used in making guitar bodies and was wondering how good the tone and sustain would be if the body of an sg where made from solid cedar. What kind of pick ups would word best. I'm sure it would be a beautiful guitar but would it sound good? Any info would be appreciated.
retrorod
I am not sure how that would work out....

Versatile
Personal opinion is that if it was viable, then 'everybody' would be doing it... Two decades later cedar had established and is commonly used since then. I don't see a serious hindrance for making solidbody guitars from it.
