Inupiat
I am getting a hum when I coil tap to single coil. Anyone else have this or should I be worried?
capmaster
Hum is normal when operating a single pickup only. In case you use them both in parallel at about the same volume settings, and the coil split engages the same coil of each pickup which usually is the one with the pole pieces like LP Standard 2012 and 2013 do, the hum should practically cancel out because the BB Pros are reverse wound/reverse polarity. These models also change to the neck pickup's coil with the fixed pole pieces when operating its polarity (falsely aka phase) switch, so the out of polarity (falsely aka out of phase) position will be hum cancelling, too. capmaster
Sorry, just realized my reply could be misleading. In case of using one pickup with split coils and the other one humbucking, the hum will remain. Cancelling out will happen if both BB Pro pickups are operated in split mode.
