Ping at bridge.

Does anyone know what cause a ping. at the bridge when you hit open string,Mainly 2 and 3 string.I only have on my bertter guitars not on the $300 ans $400 ones.Its doing it on my J-15 and epiphone DR rosewood masterbuilt.

With me it usually turns out to be the nut slot and not the saddle. Sometimes just putting some graphite in the slot helps. Other times the nut has got to go.

Its not pinging from the nut,It louder on open strings put still will ping on the lower frets.

Check to see that the ball ends on the strings are tight up against the bridge plate. If they are not all kinds of weird noises can and do occur. Check for any lose wires on pickup systems. They can and do have a tendency to vibrate if lose. It doesn't sound like a major problem at this point but you never know. While you are under the hood, so to speak, you might check for lose or cracked braces.
