bill67
I have a standard Dot , was wondering the difference in sound with the Sheridan and Studio and mine.
Kurt Vonnegut Fan
Pretty darn similar. The Dot Studio sports a hot bridge pickup, dirtier than those on the other two. Another minor difference is that the Studio has single tone and volume controls.
wiggy
The Studio is mahogany ply body and neck whereas the Dot is maple ply body and neck. As a rough analogy If Dot = LP Standard Then Dot Studio = Les Paul Special or Junior (darker, more raw, stripped back sound) Like the Specials and Juniors the Dot Studio really works well with P90's or HB/P90 combination (HB in bridge and P90 in neck)
