burchster
I gave 3 Sheratons 2 62/50s and a sherry 2 They all have the original tortise shell pickguards on. What I am wondering is as they age will these modern guards begin to gas off? Im not sure what kind of plastic goes into these modern guards so maybe this is just a vintage guitar issue? J4T5
Those Sheraton 62's are really nice. I had one in Cherry and one in Natural then a sunburst. All very nice guitars I just ended up liking the bigger necks on the Epi DOTs. Something for everyone. As far as the pickguard material...I've been led to believe that all the new plastic pickguard will age very differently than the old style. I pretty sure your newer pickguard will be stable, longer. Jayyj
The celluloid used on vintage guards was very different to the modern plastic ones. You won't have the problem on a modern Epi.
