SD 59 1 conductor wiring diagram?

If you are talking about just a pup swap, you don't need a diagram. In fact, that might mess you up, sinse there are at LEAST 2 wiring diagrams for a Les Paul.

What you really want to do is make sure to note where the pup you are taking out is wired, and simply put the wires in the same place. You would be wise to draw out your own diagram of what is there now before you undo anything.

The "single conductor" you are talking about is almost surely a sheilded wire. The center wire is the hot, and the shield is the negative or ground. The sheild, or negative goes to the back of the pot, and the hot goes to the lug on the volume control where the old pup will be wired.
