Epiphone/Gibson Les Paul length

Are the Epiphone Les Pauls longer than the Gibson Les Pauls? Reason for asking In have a hard shell "Gator Case" that my Epiphone just fits in. I mean the head stock touches the fuzzy material. I called Gator this morning and they thought the Epis were a little longer than the Gibsons. But they said it was the right case. There is no pressure on the head stock but it does fit sort of snug. There may be maybe an 1/8" clearance once you get it in. I can't see it hurting anything but any thoughts are welcome.

The Epi headstock might be a tiny bit taller. But snug is what you want. A guitar bouncing around in a case a recipe for disaster.
