meetyboy
Hey guys, really need your help here. About to buy my first "real" Gibson (you know, with binding and the inlays and all that), and I found the perfect SG Standard in white, with a big pick guard. The seller's offering US$1000 with the original white furry hard case, just the guitar and case, nothing else. He claims he bought it from the USA (I live in Hong Kong), and happily sent me pictures of all angles of the guitar, which I'm attaching here. Thing is, I don't know why but it looks a bit off to me. Could some of you SG experts please tell me if it's real? If so I'm going to try it out and possibly buy it tomorrow. Cheers
Rabs
Looks like a Gibson.. BUT the one thing that bothers me is the serial and Made in imprint.. It almost looks like its had a re-spray cos you can barely see it.. But that could just be the angle... Im no SG expert though but there are plenty on here.. Thanks for that.....yeah when he sent it it was a bit hard to see, i just had to turn my computer screen to the right angle to get it. I saw the legit serial number and the Made in USA thing, looks legit, just not sure. Will wait for other's opinions.
meetyboy
Good news - I sent pics to Gibson customer service and they responded quite quickly - appears to be a real Gibson. Thanks for your help!
