jrock1
I own a 1960 Historic Les Paul, serial number: 0 6517 1. Is my guitar a HRM (hard rock maple) edition? 2. Is it listed as a V.O.S. model? Anything else you can tell me about it? Thanks.
Custom Admin
1) no, it's just a "standard" 1960 reissue 2) yes 3) color is iced tea, originally shipped to Rudy's in NYC. all other specs can be found here: http://www.gibsoncustom.com/flash/products/lespauls/60/1960Standard.html
jrock1
Thanks for your reply - is it possible that the top is HRM, even though you don't see it in your data, as the original shipping box label stated IT-HRM? For that matter are all '59 and '60 Historic LP Reissues Eastern Hard Rock maple now? The sticky thread in this section reflecting changes to Historics over the years states that they are - and one more question, please...that same thread states that '07 started using Honduran Mahogony. Is there any difference between '06, for example and '07 mahogony used for the Historic LPs - and if he is wrong, should the thread be corrected? Thanks. Custom Admin
sure, anything's possible but there's no way for me to confirm it. we use both eastern and western maple, neither exclusively...mahogany is "south american" (that's as specific as anyone here will get with me on that topic). i guess i need to go in and make some edits to that sticky...
