ajay
The binding on my 2002 EIR Advanced Jumbo is really becoming dark Ivory color. No complaint, because it looks awesome, but I don't think that it was this dark when I bought it new. Of course, it'd hard to remember exactly what it wad like brand new. I just took it out the other day after playing my Alvarez for two or three weeks, and the rich Ivory color of the bindings just slapped me in the head. As cool as it looks now, I can't wait to see it around its 25th birthday.Has anyone else felt or noticed that the Ivoroid bindings on their Gibson is getting darker and richer looking as the years go by, or am I just a crazy old coot? ( I guess I left myself out in mid air with that one!)
zombywoof
It is not the plastic binding changing color but the laquer covering it yellowing. The lacquer can be scraped off and the binding will again look snowy white.
