You need to put this into perspective. He says he used it on the Moving Pictures album for the song Tom Sawyer. So, that was 1980. I will assume he bought it in 1979 and that makes it a seven year old bass. If you adjust for inflation, that's about $650 in today's dollars. That is about the going price for a 7 year old USA bass today.
