His Dad couldn't afford the Fender, but he bought him a Bright Red Strat copy, and this started one of the World's greatest guitarists on his way. He said that He used to fall asleep while He was practicing. He would wake up under the weight of His beloved "Strat".So it appears that the way to guitar greatness, and even "goodness" is practice, practice, practice. Find a good teacher that You like, online if necessary, and practice every chance that You get. I must be getting good, I've had quite a few people fall asleep when I've been playing guitar! I also think my playing must have therapeutic powers as during my last charity gig at a hospice, one woman, who apparently hadn't got out of bed of spoken for three years (her bed was wheeled in), during one of my solos got up and walked out muttering!
