aaa
I was told this guitar is 1954 model ES 125. I'm trying to make sure this is right or see if either part is incorrect. The serial number has a W in front too followed by three numbers a space and two more if that is helpful. Thank you.
L5Larry
"W" is the letter code for 1955.
JimR56
The pickup and control knobs are not original. If the guitar is stamped "ES 125" inside the body, then the original P90 pickup has been changed to the humbucker it now has. If it is not stamped as an ES 125, there's a chance it was originally an acoustic instrument. Either way, a modification has occurred with the installation of the humbucking pickup, which wouldn't have been available in 1955 (nor that style of volume/tone knobs).
