bogiebusta
I sent my old Thunderbird Bass to Gibson for restoration. It came back looking, playing and sounding great. My only issue is that they painted over the serial number. I can see part but not all of it. Does anyone know a good way to restore the serial number as it was originally. It is stamped into the back of the headstock. bk
btoth76
Hello and welcome to the Forums! Once it is lacquered, - I guess -, You can't do that without damaging the finish. Cheers... Bence
HEADKNOCKER
He's right.. The only way to get it back to "As Original" would be to strip it before the refinish as I did to this one with headstock break.. I wouldn't worry about it at all BUT in case you ever sell it KEEP the invoice from Gibson where/when you got the refinish done..
