SmokeyGhost
Thank you, Pinch. I've owned an EPI LP Standard PlusTop Pro for some time. I agree. They are not to be dismissed as a cheap copy and are a fine guitar in their own right. When I took mine to a GC to try out an amp I was considering, one of the staff, who is a working musician, commented on hearing it "Damn, that's got a good tone" and proceeded to give it a bit of a work out. I didn't buy the amp however.

Cool. I was surprised by how good the tone was/is - and how well it holds up compared to a Gibson LP. I've never owned a Gibson LP, but I've played a few in my days. Granted, they were standards (as in stock) and not $gazillion LPs from whenever, but hand on heart: this Epi has better tone than all four or five of them. I know it sounds unlikely. Maybe I've only played LP duds.
