Californiaman
83-188 Is this a custom shop serial number? It works different than the regular serial numbers, right?

[/quote'] Looks suspicious - should be CSYY1234 where YY are the year and 1234 is the Custom Shop production number. You're missing a number. Californiaman
In my research I found that it is either a R8 from '03 or a R8 from '93. The guy said it was one of only 250 made that year, but that's all I could get out of him. Am I close?
sktn77a
Only one digit for the year. CY1234. Oops, yes, my mistake. I guess everyone is so paranoid about fakes these days (me especially, having nearly bought one......) That's what's so great about this forum! WannaBeGuitar
Have a local ad for allegedly a custom shop USA Les Paul serial number CR80092 for $300. Is this potentially legit? I'm leaning toward no, but you know, never know...
