I have played one. FANTASTIC instrument. it is very different from a J45 or even the L-00. it is very lightly built and extremely responsive. wonderful fingerstyle guitar. it has that classic thumpy, woody, almost boxy sound of a real vintage L-1. I think it may be one of the most "accurate to vintage" sounding guitars in the Gibson lineup today. it's definitely not for everyone because it's not at all modern and not at all a big strummer like a J45. Most people who haven't played a vintage, small body Gibson will be shocked by how different it is. An amazing instrument if you want that sort of thing though. And yes, I do think the thermally cured adi top made a difference.
