T50
Hello gents, I've seen some pics of LPs with all mahogany body with no maple top. Does anyone know how the sound is different than maple/mahogany LPs? I assume the all-mahogany would have more lows and mids???
Raptor
The original 1950s Customs and current reissue Customs have an all mahogany body, and Gibson USA has released some Vintage Mahogany models. The maple cap adds some brightness to the tone, so all mahogany is warmer with more mids and lows as you have stated. If you buy one and find it does not have enough high end, you can give it some with different caps and tone pots.
Riffster
Definitely a darker tone than the maple top counterparts, in the case of the Les Paul Vintage Mahogany vintage sound for sure...
