fretgirl
The little e string on my sheryl crow model is flat and tinny sound at the twelfth and third fret. what might be causing this to happen??
ksdaddy
The crowns (rounded tops) of the frets might be off a little or the frets might need to be levelled and recrowned. Wood moves all the time and sometimes fretboards and fret seatings that are perfect when they leave the factory need a little tweak. If that's the case it's a simple fix. I'm sure the Gibson Warranty Police will chime in, I'm just stating what the problem might be is all.
TWilson
I had the frets levelled and recrowned on a guitar that I was selling. The owner of one of the local acoustic shops did it and I believe it only cost me $20.
ballcorner
Take it to a good tech fretgirl. It will most likely be as simple as ksdaddy says it is and you can get it fixed for a flirt or a twenty at most places. I tried the flirt, but middle aged men like me might just as well pull out the cash and save themselves the embarrassment.
