gitar50 Posted August 9, 2017 Share Posted August 9, 2017 I replaced the pickups and pots in my LP, and now it has a hum, and if I touch the hot lead from the switch to the jack, it gets worse. I have gone through this many times, and can't see any bad solder joints, any ideas? Should the hot lead from the switch be a shielded wire? kidblast Posted August 9, 2017 Share Posted August 9, 2017 you should be able to use all the existing internal wires from the toggle switch. do you have a ground wire soldered to all the pickups, is the ground lead to the stud connection solid?
