CAMELEYE
OK so I found two, a regular production one locally and a used TV online. The local one is new and I've played several times and it's pretty darn nice. Very projective, solid tone. But I can't play the TV, hence this post. If any of you have played a TV, I'd very much appreciate your thoughts. It's gettin' decision time. Thanks, Ce.
jgwoods
I have a J 185 TV and it is wonderful. I haven't played a "regular" J 185 so I can't say how they might be different. I bought mine from Fullers - with 7 days to return it- it took 6 to decide. I changed the strings, went all over it before I decided to keep it. Don't buy unless you can do a direct compare and spend some time, or unless you can return it after a good try out.

Dave in SLC
Hi CE, Get the TV, bring it to the place where they have the regular, and see which one sounds/plays/feels better to your tastes. I have a J-185TV and think it's much better than the regular production model, much more 'alive' sounding; but that's to my taste. Enjoy! Jinder
I think the MC 185s are good guitars, but I'd definitely go with the TV. Strangely, I feel the other way with regard to Hummingbird MCs and TVs-I prefer the MC. Strange ol' world.
