Davemoe
Have a les Paul recording. Does it need an adapter I know it came with one? I am a beginner with a Marshall low watt amp.
ksdaddy
I think the Recording has a built in adaptor for low impedance. If there’s a switch for hi/lo, there’s your answer. The Personal (gold hardware) and Professional (Nickel or Chrome hardware) both required the adaptor cord. One of the Personals I owned, I mounted the adaptor inside the control cavity so I could use a regular cord.
Grog
The Recording does have a built in transformer, but to hear all of the features that make the guitar unique you need to use a transformer chord with the transformer as close as possible to the amp. Flipping the switch to low impedance. If it is a Personal or a Professional, you would have very low output without the transformer chord.
