How difficult is it to change with the electronics attached to the pickguard. Also, can I just loosen the strings for this procedure or do I have to remove them to lift out the pickup assembly. But you'll want to remove the strings so you can pick the pickguard assembly straight up without scratching your finish (as you try to slip it out under the still attached strings). Also, watch out for that that pesky ground wire, don't pull out the assembly without taking a look at how much play that wire will give you.
