Replacing a 22 fret neck (with overhang) to a 21 fret neck (no overhang)

I have a Les Paul special I P90. The original neck has an overhang (I hope I’m using the right word). I was hoping to replace it with a new neck without overhang. If it has the same scaling would it be possible. Or would I get another 22 get neck because the last fret stops right at the overhang and the replacement necks have the last fret at the end. It’s all a bit confusing. What should I do?

You need to be sure you maintain the 24.75" scale.

It may be that the fret positions remain the same, and the holes will line up properly (I'm assuming this is a bolt one). I don't know.

Pop the new neck on and measure from nut to bridge. It should be 24.75". Of course you will still need to intonate once you get strings on. Find a YT video on it. There should be plenty about.
