saturn Posted May 22, 2021 Share Posted May 22, 2021 (edited) On the topic of the OP, I have to think it is intentional thing by Gibson, not some one-time error. A few years ago the machine shop where I work had a job subbed to us for PRS John Mayer prototype. It was something for the Volume/Tone knobs. I'm not sure how the final product is created, but we were given a thin sheet of metal with the image of the numbers 0 through 10 etched or lasered on the plate and we just had to use our EDM to cut the outside into a very precision size and shape.
