ES 335 Vintage Reissue 60s Cherry (U.S.) : quality concerns

Hey,

I purchased mine back in February this year through guitar center.  It arrived in an outer box with cushioning with the gibson factory box inside.  No damage or indentations to the inner box

At first, I was ecstatic just to be able to find one for sale.  However, after the months have gone by I've noticed of few things upon closer inspection:

  • Wood filler (I think) was used on top/front near between neck and switch...shows up as a mono-colored light blonde spot about a 3/8" circular-ish area.  Not the same color/tone as other brighter areas in the grain elsewhere.
  • Final finish / sealer has several small pock marks on the front toward the bottom near-ish to strap lock: not sure if they are pock marks in the wood or the clear finish

I'd attach pictures but the size limit here is even too small for PDF files.

Given the cost and high expectation of quality, I am disappointed.

My LP finish is flawless...bought 10 year ago.

Where should I go from here?

Is this covered by warranty?

Am I picking nits?

Thanks,

Bob
