Twelve Bar Bob Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 I have a 2003 Herb Ellis model ES165 advertised on the Vermont Musician's Marketplace and am wondering what is the right price to ask for it. The guitar is basically a "closet Queen". It was sold to me by a fellow that purchased the assets of a defunct music store and I just never got around to playing it. The instrument is in like-new condition. Searches for this model have turned up prices approaching $5000, but the guy selling it for me has it listed for less than $3000. What is the right price to ask? Quote
jdgm Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 I would go high at first so you can always come down. I am in UK so can't help much but it's worth more than $3k I'm sure, in that condition with that case. Stunning and from a good period too. Gibson are not manufacturing f-hole jazz guitars now, except to special order. The market is 'niche' but this model in this colour and condition should be worth a little more IMO. Quote
