Swiss Steak

My mother used to make the best Swiss Steak. Tomatos' date=' Onions and Cube Steak. It was always good on top of a heaping pile of white rice.[/quote']

Alton Brown (Good Eats on Food Network) just did a show on cube steak in the last couple of weeks.

Edit: meant to put in that link!

and another one from Paula Deen

I love a good cornbread dressing with Honey Ham and Sweet Taters.

Wish I could turn my family onto sweet taters more. Mmm

My latest craving isn't a food that I can't figure out how to make. I just am too lazy to get the stuff together and make something that nobody else in the house will eat--"killed" lettuce & onions. (Or you civilized types might refer to them as "wilted.") It's no wonder the south is so rotund. Take something relatively healthy like lettuce and green onions and then smother in bacon grease! YUMMMM
