Vintage guitar cleaning

I have a brand new 1946 Gibson L-50 that is in need of some major cleaning.  The guitar is in very good shape for its age,  just a bit dirty and could use some TLC.

There is the regular checking you would see on a nitrocellulose finish of that age.

What is the best cleaning agent to use in the guitar? I've heard to stay away from water with a drop of dish soap and use naptha. But I've also heard that naptha is too harsh??
