The Holy Hand Grenade
How do you interpret this song? I always interpreted as George pointing out his disappointment with Humanity.

The Holy Hand Grenade
I mean just look at the lyrics. I look at you all See the love there that's sleeping While my guitar gently weeps I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping Still my guitar gently weeps I don't know why nobody told you How to unfold your love I don't know how someone controlled you They bought and sold you I look at the world and I notice it's turning While my guitar gently weeps With every mistake we must surely be learning Still my guitar gently weeps I don't know how you were diverted You were perverted too I don't know how you were inverted No one alerted you I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping While my guitar gently weeps Look at you all... Still my guitar gently weeps.

The Holy Hand Grenade
http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=153 Nice, I did not know John Lennon wanted to replace Harrison with Clapton, I knew that Clapton played lead on the song already though. KSG_Standard
"Inspiration for the song came to Harrison when reading the I Ching, which, as he put it, "seemed to me to be based on the Eastern concept that everything is relative to everything else…opposed to the Western view that things are merely coincidental."[3] Taking this idea of relativism to his parents’ home in northern England, Harrison committed to write a song based on the first words he saw upon opening a random book. Those words were “gently weeps”, and he immediately began the song..." 3. Harrison, George (2002 [1980]). I, Me, Mine, San Francisco: Chronicle Books, 120. ISBN 978-0-8118-3793-4 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/While_My_Guitar_Gently_Weeps The song was written at the height of the Vietnam war...I think George mixed some of his feelings about the war and the protests into the song...Who knows? cookieman15061
Chorus was originally "While my guitar gently blows kisses to everyone" as a tribute to his good friend Tiny Tim. John, who was known to peel onions in studio 2 at abbey road, was crying as George played the song for the other Beatles. Thinking John was deeply touched by this tune Paul suggested "gently weeps" and the rest they say is history.
