sliptrip
I have a LP Classic and a SG standard that both use the same 490/498T pickup set. I noticed that playing through my marshall at the same levels is that the SG doesn't play at the same sound volumes as my Les Paul. Could it be just a case of the LP having more natural oomph? Is there anything I can do to the SG to bring it up to the same level as the LP? It's not a HUGE difference between guitars, but I can notice it. BTW, both guitars are bone stock except for the LP having the 490/498T pickup set. It came with the 496/500T set. WAY too hot for me. I had alot of feedback problems. EVOL!
It's probably a question of size and density. My Sheraton is a lot louder than my SG and the Sheraton has not-as-hot pickups: 57 vs 57+.
RichCI
Try adjusting the height of the pickups.
