lous1952
I recently bought a refinished and mistreated but intact 1965 SG. It's had a stoptail fitted, but the Vibrola parts were still with it. The original pots were replaced, but still with it. The original wiring and caps are still in it, so putting in the original pots will make it right. I bought a set of correct Klusons for it. I also bought a correct patent sticker pre T-top pickup to replace the DiMarzio in the neck position. I sent it to Lay's Guitar Shop in Akron, Ohio to get redone. The stoptail holes will be plugged, and it needs truss rod work. It does not need a neck reset. If the body is not too messed up under the black paint it will be refinished in the original cherry red. If it's been patched or doweled I may have it painted in Pelham Blue or maybe back to black. Also, I have a correct '65 SG case laying around that I was going to sell, but never got around to it. Now I'm glad that I didn't. It should be a great player when it's done.
