myspace.com/jessenoah
I think that under-appreciated/overhyped might be better terms for trying to compare guitarists! is over-rated an over-rated term for comparing the rates of over-analyzed musical questionnaires? [biggrin] is that a confusing question?!?!?!
SHO
Overhyped is generally what I mean by overrated. Which is why I'd say, for example, that Jimi Hendrix is overrated. Why? Because I think he sucks? No, I think he was great! But, was he as great as you could be led to believe? Let's just say I don't think he was GOD ALMIGHTY of electric guitar and that nothing that anyone played before, during, or after his time has been of any worth whatsoever, which is what some magazines, guitarists, best players ever type of lists seems to want you to believe. Hence, I think he was great, but the legend that goes along with him doesn't really match what I'm hearing when I'm listening to him. So, for me he is overrated, or overhyped if you prefer. I agree with you jesee... we should use "under apreciated" and "overhyped". Works for me... NEW FORUM RULE[angry]
