Clayfingers
Hello there, This is my first post, joined the forum about a week back, and purchased my first gibson acoustic about a month ago, its a 2005 Roy Smeck Stage De Luxe Ltd, which I got new from a local dealer here in Melbourne. I have no idea of the specs, and can't find any similar vintage Roys on the net to compare it to. If anyone knows anyhting about it, then I'd like to know too. I'm having a lot of fun with it, and don't miss the 13th or 14th fret at all. The sound is getting better all the time, and it sounds particularly good in open D tuning. Cheers, Todd
jannusguy
todd, welcome to the forum and the roy smeck owners club! great choice of guitar. you should be able to email bozeman customer service and request the specs for your guitar. provide them with the serial number and you should be golden. mine has an adi (red spruce) top and madagascar rosewood back and sides. it flat roars on drop D. these aren't for everyone due to the nut width but, if that doesn't bother you, they are great! enjoy... Clayfingers
Hi Jannusguy, Thanks for that, I didn't know I could e-mail for specs, I'll do it over the weekend. I love the wide nut width and thick V neck, makes it easier to get some of those tightly clustered chords. Todd

Greg Ferguson
Welcome, Todd. I've never played a Roy Smeck, but I hear only great things about them. Sounds like a great choice for your Gibson.
Clayfingers
Hello there, A couple of more picks of the stage de luxe: The back of the guitar is actually much darker than it looks in that photo, more like a dark chocolate colour than the red/brown above
