deepblue
Guys... Is there a reason some pots have a split shaft and some are solid?
TommyK
Some pot knobs have a V shaped spring in the middle of the shaft hole, that slips into the shaft to act as a detent to keep the knob from falling out.

zigzag
This would appear to be the appropriate spot to ask this question even though it has little to do with the original post (sorry). I changed out the pick-ups in my Strat and was curious to know: are the stock tone control pots 250 or 500k ohms in a 1998 American Standard Strat? deepblue
250K is the rule of thumb with Strats.
