Average Joe Brown
Hi all, Can anyone tell me what would be a good neck pickup to join a BB Pro on the bridge. Realy like the sound of the pro but having difficulty deciding what to put on the neck. Trying to avoid using a pair of pros. Have heard the BB 1 is good. Cheers. Hector Arcadius
Hey man, I know exactly what you mean. I have the pair of BB Pros in my Studio and I have thought about swapping only the neck pickup, in order to get a mellower tone. Personally, I would go with the Gibson '57 Classic (or something relevant from Seymour Duncan / DiMarzio). I think that would be a perfect pair. good luck. Average Joe Brown
Cheers for the reply dude. I have heard some good things about the '57 Classic. I was also thinking about the Seymore Duncan Alnico II Pro in the neck. Do you have any opinions on this? Would you reckon it is better to keep like with like and staying with the same manufacturer (Gibson)?
kev7555
I have a BB1 in the neck position on my MM and it sounds very, very nice. Both those other seletions are great pickups also. I have a set of 57 classics I wouldn't trade for anything and the Alnico 2 pros from SD are extremely good pickups as well. -Kev
jamman
The BB1 or '57 classic imo, are great pickups. The '57 is smoother. the BB1 cleaner. I have guitars with both of them in them and some days it's hard to choose which one to play. You won't go wrong with either.
