rar
(Didn't want to hijack Eddie's thread, so I'm starting a new one.) - Adirondack top and braces It's been definitively established that Martin used Sitka' date=' not Adirondack, for bracing in the '30s. (See the recent thread in the UMGF Vintage Corner -- here's a link -- for details, but the short of it is that two independent expert professional spruceologists have done DNA analyses in their labs and confirmed it's Sitka, which is exactly what many already thought given that the stuff looks like Sitka.) Anyone know for sure what Gibson used in the '30s? (I know what the spruce on my '30s Gibsons looks like to me, but I'm no expert professional spruceologist.) -- Bob

Hall
I hear it was Stika also, but that is talk from an older than me boy and not a, "for sure". What he has (39 HG) is too beat for me to be certain. But it differs from the top for sure, if only by time and use.
