L5Larry
For price and availability, D'Addario Chromes are very good flatwound strings in a variety of guages.
daveinspain
For price and availability' date=' D'Addario Chromes are very good flatwound strings in a variety of guages.[/quote'] Interesting... I put some flatwounds on my ES 339 and love the feel and sound for that guitar. I'm thinking about putting them on my Johnny A. now. I payed 14.95 for the set. Is anyone using flatwounds on a solid body? Les Paul, SG?
DeVeeWee
Is anyone using flatwounds on a solid body? Les Paul' date=' SG?[/quote'] Not me, it feels like I'm playing slide guitar without a bottle neck...
daveinspain
Not me' date=' it feels like I'm playing slide guitar without a bottle neck...[/quote'] I hear you, it's a different feel, not Rocky at all, but for a clean sound with a touch of chorus and slight reverb, sounds like heaven... whis4ey
Flatwounds do not retain their 'fresh' sound for very long
