bobrollar Posted June 11, 2010 Share Posted June 11, 2010 I know this is a Gibson forum, but almost every picture or video I see of a Fender neck, it looks very shiny. I know its the light reflecting off the frets, but I just don't see that "shine" on a Gibson neck, I know this probably makes no sense at all but Ive always thought about. Not sure if its some kind of coating they use on the actual neck or what but I was just curious...:) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
saturn Posted June 11, 2010 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Many Fender necks are maple fret board with lacquer finish. That looks pretty shiny. Almost all Gibsons have rosewood or ebony fret boards and no lacquer. If you mean the frets themselves, then I have no idea. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
