pescadore
I have a 1973-75 J-50 that had a neck problem and I had the neck repaired and reset by a luthier. The guitar plays like a dream now but I find myself in dire financial condition and I must sell it. Could anyone give me an idea on how much the guitar would be worth? I don't want to ask to much but I need to get as much as I can.
rar
I have a 1973-75 J-50 ... Could anyone give me an idea on how much the guitar would be worth? Looks like the last three of these that sold on eBay went for between $742 and $760. You might get lucky and do a little better, but one that started at $950 hasn't attracted any bids. -- Bob R
drathbun
My Vintage Guitar Guide for 2010 says 1973-75 Gibson J50 in Excellent condition Low $1300 High $1500 eBay selling prices are probably more indicative of true value.
zombywoof
I would think that unless the guitar is very rare or very desireable, if the price guide cites $1300-$1500 you would be looking at $800-$1000 in a private sale. There was one in pretty nice condition up for sale in one of the music stores here a little while back though. It sat for awhile and ended up selling in the price range rar cited - $750.00.
