albertjohn
Never played an Ovation but if the Modfather likes them, that's good enough for me. Why not look at Epi or Yamaha. I know they are not MIA (unsure how important that is to you) but great value.

Usually around a hunnert bucks. They show up every now and again on Musician's Friend or Music 1-2-3.
onewilyfool
Harmony Sovereign 1260 is a GREAT beat around guitar, stopped production in the early 70's. All solid woods, hyde glue, ladder braced, loud and bassy. Great guitar. Smaller bodied guitars made by Blueridge and Recording King, although Asian made, are great guitars for the bucks. You can get them used on Craig's list often for a song. Good luck in the hunt!!!
