WayneW
What gauge strings does the BB King Lucille come with? BB uses 10's for the first 3 strings, but changes to a heavier gauge for the bottom, so I'm wondering how the stock Lucille is strung.
bug music
Mine came with D'Addarios from the factory, I could telll by the colored ends. I'm pretty sure mine was a standard 10-46 set though, didn't feel any heavier on the bottom strings. - Jay
RotcanX
Yeah, that's probably the case. What you want to do is get a "light top/heavy bottom" set, 10-52 (my personal fave). D'Addario, Ernie Ball, Dean Markley all make this set. Basically it's a hybrid between a light and a medium set.

WayneW
Ive heard of BB king using 8's for his high e.. im not sure if this is true or not.. but crazy either way The Gibson brand BB King string set uses a 10, the skinny top, heavy bottom that was mentioned previously. This is also the same string set that comes installed on Gibson Lucilles. Besides, the way BB bends them, I don't think he'd need to use an 8.
