Rick1281734033
In the most resent Guitar World magazine there is an Ad for te Thunderbird-IV Bass. In the ad there is a small caption that says, "TB-Bass Humbuckers since 1873" 1873. Is this a typo? Or was epiphone making electrical bass humbuckers since 1873? Fill me in on this, please. page 187 for those of you with the magazine. Its the 300th issue (for more clarity)
RotcanX
Definitely something weird there all right. Maybe they are referring to the Epiphone company.
bluefoxicy
Of course not. Back then they made humbuckers out of faerie dust. Gibson came up with the electrical ones.
Rick1281734033
Meh, i just thought it was strange. If it is the date the company was started, I wouldn't expect them to put hte date down for an electrical bass. Oh well, still pretty funny though. garyelcrrt1281733995
Isn't that just a little earlier than, Edison?
dubstar
the light bulb was actually patented in 1873 or 1874...before that the telegraph system was using low-level electrical current... experiments with electricity go back even further...fun reading if you poke around
Belzeebub
most likely a typo, unless Thomas Edison had a secret project stashed away somewhere.
